Passport Abroad companion app · Last updated 14 July 2026

Passport Abroad ("we", "us") operates the Passport Abroad companion app for students enrolled in our exchange programs and their parents or guardians. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Passport Abroad is operated by Sean Su / PassportAbroad in Taipei, Taiwan.

Who uses this app. The app is intended for enrolled exchange students (typically 14 to 17 years old) and their parents or guardians. It is not directed at children under 13, and it is not a general-audience social network. Access is limited to people enrolled in, or connected to, a Passport Abroad program.

1Information we collect

2How we use information

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and the app contains no third-party ads.

3Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the program:

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4Minors and parental involvement

Because our students are minors, we handle their information with extra care. Parents or guardians are involved through the program and can access a parent view of their student's account. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, correct, or request deletion of their student's information.

5Security and storage

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on Supabase with access controls that limit who can read each record. Access is restricted to authorized Passport Abroad staff and the account holder. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to run your program and for a reasonable period afterward, or as required by law. You can request deletion of your account and data from within the app (Account, then Delete account) or by emailing us. We will confirm the request, since accounts are tied to an active exchange program.

7Your choices and rights

Passport Abroad is based in Taiwan and follows the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Where applicable, we also honor recognized privacy rights for users in other regions.

8Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify users in the app.
